Let’s have a break ! We met Pierre and Günther in Windhoek. They were looking for others travellers to rent a car. Here we are. Let’s go to central and southern Namibia by Toyota Corolla. We first stopped in Spitzkoppe, an amazing orange granite mountain stand in the middle of flat desert area.
In Cape Cross, we met more than 100 000 fur seals. The largest colony in the world. A bit stinky!
Around Swakopmund an old german style city, we discovered one of the oldest plant of the planet. The welwitchia mirabilis. The oldest specimens are as big as a car. Some of them are more than 1500 y.o.

It’s probably the most famous place in Namibia. Sossusvlei is an ocean of big orange dunes. We climbed dune 45 to attend the sunrise. Awesome!
To conclude this 10 days trip, we visited Fish River Canyon. 550 meters deep, 150 km long and 27 wide.
We are now back in the capital city. We’ll soon leave by bicycle. South Africa’s border is at 800 km and Cape Town at about 1700km. Hope to be there in 20 days.
We did 18080 km so far. We’ll be back to France the 10th of July.
